members of the public call for submission - trail tale childhood memories - deadline 28th Feb 2015

2/12/2015

About the choreography:

Trail Tale is a theatrical dance piece inspired by Chilean writer and activist Luis Sepúlveda’s book The Story of a Snail Who Discovered the Importance of Being Slow. This playful duet looks at journeying, growth and solidarity to find the strength to go forward and face the past. These themes resonate particularly with people, who struggle to share their fears or ask for help, especially when facing difficult situations at home or work and or in developing relationships with others.

A big element of our research it has been looking into childhood memories and the power of human interaction also by involving members of the public through two activities:

-       Trail Tale - Childhood Memories
-
Trail Tale - Embrace

Do you want to contribute to a multidisciplinary art event?
Do you have an object/ image linked to your childhood?
Do you have a camera phone?
If the answer to all of the above is YES, take part in Trail Tale – Childhood Memories

After our initial showing of Trail Tale at Emerge Festival in November 2014 we are now entering the second phase of the project Trail Tale –Snapshots, in collaboration with film-maker and photographer Andrea Gambadoro.

Our aim is to produce a multidisciplinary art event. This will include: a photographic exhibition, a video installation and a live performance of Trail Tale.

We are now asking members of the public to contribute to our research and development by sharing with us a picture taken with their phone, of an object or of a photograph connected with their childhood and in particular with their relationship to a parent.

All images will contribute to the development of the choreography’s movement content.
Some images will be selected to be part of the photographic exhibition
Some objects/photos will be when possible used as part of the live performances.

If interested email your image to:
mazzillidancetheatre@yahoo.co.uk
by 28th February 2015

Make sure you provide us with a short description of your photo and your contact details. We will inform you about the development of the work and of whether or not your picture/object has been chosen within 3 wks from the deadline.
